Coburg is looking forward to the return with the henschel-quartett
With the concert of their honorary members, the music friends also start their project “mozart plus”, in the framework of which all ten string quartets from mozart's viennese period are to be performed in the next three to four seasons.
Of these ten quartets, some have been performed several times at the musikfreunde in the hundred years of their existence, while others have never been performed at all. Also the quartet in B-flat major, K. 458 “hunting quartet, with which the henschel quartet will open the concert, was heard by the music lovers only once – meanwhile 46 years ago.

The henschel quartet is a constant for the people of coburg: no chamber music association has played at the music friends more often than this ensemble in the hundred years of its existence. The current performance will be the ninth since the first concert in september 1994. This time the quartet comes in a changed line-up: since 2011 daniel bell, former member of the petersen quartet, replaces markus henschel on the second violin. Message for SOS children's village
In addition to its international concert activities, the henschel quartet also devotes itself to other areas: it is an ambassador for SOS children's village e. V. And is committed to the young musical talent through intensive teaching activities. Among other things, christoph henschel has been a professor in a violin class at the university of augsburg since 2011.
