Four districts and one individual will soon get water from the rodacher group
The drinking water connection for the districts of oberndorf, eggenreuth, dornhof and grundhaus as well as the property at steinbruch 11 is within reach. This was announced by plant manager stephan proschold at a site meeting.
For many decades, the supply of drinking water from domestic wells was ensured in these parts of the city. Now the municipal utilities are investing around 1.78 million euros, with the state of bavaria providing a subsidy of 790000 euros.
Motion of the burghers
At the end of 2018, twelve households had applied for connection to the public drinking water supply. “The municipal utilities and the IBP office have examined the technical feasibility and applied for a grant”, proschold explained. The committee then met on 20. October 2020, on the recommendation of mayor ingo lehmann (SPD), the works committee decided to implement the mabnahme. “In the future, drinking water will be supplied by the “zweckverband rodacher gruppe” at the transfer point near ramscheid.”
In the spring will be connected
At present, the kulmbach company ASK is laying the interconnecting pipelines between the transfer point and the city districts, the plant manager said. Completion is planned for this year. In the spring of 2022, the households were connected. Proschold thanked especially his colleagues oliver voss and rainer spindler, who accompany the mabnahme.
Mayor ingo lehmann was pleased to be able to provide residents with a future-proof supply solution. The city council's goal is to also make the rural areas attractive. Now it is hoped that construction activity will also increase in these districts because of the secure supply of drinking water. Lehmann thanked ASK in particular for completing the work on schedule. “We hope that the residents will be satisfied with the connection to the public drinking water supply. Of course, the landowners must also pay their own share.” Without the high demand and the participation of the residents, it would have been difficult to realize the acceptance of the m.
ASK managing director florian schneider mentioned another special feature of the earthworks: “we have seen everything that the geology of kulmbach has to offer. We have literally torn our way through the colored sandstone on the slopes.”
